One of the most prominent public issues confronting the Philippines today is its recovery from the two years of pandemic misery. Tourism in the Philippines was just starting to bounce back after nearly two years of the pandemic. Natural disasters and the risk of new coronavirus variants like omicron have increased obstacles for the tourism industry over the past two years, particularly for small and medium-sized businesses.
Prior to the sudden pandemic, the Philippines experienced a remarkable influx of tourists. Now that travel has resumed, tourists, both foreign and domestic, would like to see more adequate facilities that will meet their expectations as well as provide excellent quality experiences in terms of accommodation and recreational activities.
Then it is an opportunity to provide a better tourist destination that have complete facilities and amenities for the guests. In a location that is rich in natural wonders such as beautiful beaches, majestic mountains, and magnificent waterfalls.
There are still areas in the Philippines that have more to offer, such as our proposed site in Bagac, Bataan. Despite having many attractions for tourists, the province of Bataan has limited infrastructure and services required to accommodate tourist visiting the province especially in the municipality of Bagac, which has the potential to be a prime-sustainable tourism destination in the province.
The proposed Waterfront Eco-Resort & Hotel will adapt the concept of green design and Contemporary Vernacular Architecture that connect and benefit the end user of the establishment within their needs and to express the flexibility of Filipino design.
The composition of two different concept in the project which are Japanese Architecture and Contemporary Vernacular Architecture that showcase Filipino Architecture creates a new approach in the building design and its uniqueness from similar developments adapts the theme “REIMAGINED”. The conglomeration of the two concepts demonstrates the resilience of Filipino people through structures that implement future proofing in the face of unexpected climatic changes and can withstand future challenges. Creating more durable structures through the use of advance design approaches combined with Vernacular Architecture. The main objective of incorporating the two elements in one is to appreciate more about the culture and richness of the municipality that it naturally has.
The primary goal of the research is to improve the quality of lodging, entertainment, and recreational facilities of a hotel and waterfront eco-resort with natural exotic beauty. This could result in increased income for the Bataan regions. This will potentially boost the number of visitors in the province, as well as the exposure of Bataan as one of the known tourist destinations in the Philippines. The research will benefit the Philippines' economy by satisfying the desires of both local and international investors. The environmentally friendly construction allows the location to compete with its neighboring towns and province and lessen the impact in its natural environment.
The proposed development of a hotel and eco-resort is distinguished by the fact that all of its components address the fundamental needs of Bagac, Bataan, and prospective targets. While incorporating Japanese design, green and contemporary vernacular architecture that adapts traditional and modern designs to develop advanced, unique, and future building designs. The structure itself is environmentally conscious and promotes eco-friendly and efficiency while striving to be an iconic or well-known structure in Bagac, Bataan.
The main focus is to design a flexible and cost-effective development which minimizes the negative environmental impact of buildings by enhancing efficiency and limitation in the use of materials, energy and development space. While incorporating green and contemporary vernacular architecture that adapts traditional and modern designs to develop advanced, unique, and future building designs.
The subject of the study is the viability of developing a Waterfront Eco-Resort and Hotel while preserving the site's unique and natural scenery. location, is suitable since it has been carefully examined to determine the viability of its successful growth while taking into account its culture and current practices in order to avoid wasteful development in Banawang, Bagac, Bataan. Green design will help to reduce the environmental impact of new construction. Filipino culture will be showcased through contemporary vernacular architecture.
To summarize, the researchers use data and ideas from all relevant and important studies and research that can be compared to others similar projects, and the proponents must devise appropriate solutions and considered numerous factors before deciding on the purchase of the project and putting good design skills to the next level, which would be a plus significant factor in the development of the eco resort, Adapting appropriate solutions on how the decision - making process of constructing a structure can be useful to demonstrate the essence and design functions that will be beneficial to the building and those for future generations, as well as those for current users.
The proposed project’s success opens up prospects for Bagac, Bataan to establish itself as a new tourist destination. This will benefit the whole economic growth of Bagac, Bataan and also the Philippines as a whole. Raising its employment rate not only from the proposed project but also for the nearby municipalities. Opportunities for new businesses will arise, and investors will be interested in making investments, particularly in the expanding Municipality of Bagac, Bataan. Taking everything into consideration, Bagac, Bataan has no choice but to progress.
This project will not only improve the economy of Bagac, Bataan but also improve the quality of services of hotel and resort offered here in the Philippine. This is the first thing that visitors will notice, contributing to the region's undeniably increased value. This is the best possible example of putting your best foot forward—demonstrating to travelers and potential investors that Bagac, Bataan can compete with other coastal tourist destinations in the Philippines.
